Pascal Ricquier, the former long-serving president of the National Union of the Luxembourg Grand Ducal Police (SNPGL), recently confirmed his candidacy in the upcoming elections for the Chamber of Civil Servants and Public Employees. Running as a candidate for the Independent Confederation of Luxembourg Trade Unions (OGBL), Ricquier’s decision marks a shift from his previous role as a member of the executive board of the General Confederation of the Civil Service (CGFP).

In an interview with Radio 100,7 on Tuesday morning, Ricquier explained that the CGFP did not invite him to run again, criticising Christian Schleck, president of the army union, for what he described as “playing a dubious game.” He added that the OGBL was still seeking candidates at the time, which influenced his decision to switch affiliations.

When contacted for comment, Schleck declined to provide a statement, citing the complexity of the situation. He expressed concern that attempting to explain it briefly could lead to misunderstandings or misrepresentation of the facts.
