Following the largest drug seizure ever recorded in Luxembourg, the public prosecutor's office has provided additional details about the case.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, the authorities have recovered cocaine with a gross weight of just over 889 kilograms. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be between €80 million and €160 million.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed that the cocaine will be destroyed as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the two suspects remain in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
The operation took place on 7 February 2025, when police discovered an industrial stone-crushing machine at a farmyard in Bilsdorf, located in north-west Luxembourg. The machine, which had been shipped from Colombia, was found to contain concealed cocaine.
