After two individuals tried to evade a police inspection in Differdange, officers discovered that one of them was subject to a European arrest warrant.

On Wednesday night, Luxembourg police arrested an individual subject to a European arrest warrant, during a routine patrol in Differdange. The incident occurred on Rue Michel Rodange, where officers encountered a group of people attempting to avoid their attention.

According to a police press release, the patrol decided to conduct a check after noticing the group's evasive behaviour. During the inspection, the individuals were uncooperative, and two attempted to flee. Police swiftly apprehended the fugitives, immobilising them before conducting a body search.

The search led to the confiscation of cash and several drug pellets. Following the seizure, ordered by the public prosecutor's office, authorities confirmed that one of the detained individuals was the subject of an active European arrest warrant.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before an examining magistrate on Thursday afternoon.
