The Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM) in Esch-sur-Alzette has suspended a member of its medical staff following concerns over patient safety, according to information obtained by RTL. While the hospital confirmed the suspension, it did not disclose the individual’s identity or department.

In a written statement, CHEM’s press department explained that the hospital became aware of a case where medical care was administered in a manner that potentially compromised a patient’s safety and well-being. As a precautionary measure, the hospital’s management decided to suspend the individual pending further investigation. An internal disciplinary procedure has also been initiated.

The hospital declined to provide additional details, citing the ongoing investigation and the need to respect the presumption of innocence. In line with legal requirements, CHEM’s management has informed the public prosecutor’s office about the incident.

While RTL’s sources suggest the suspended individual is a doctor working in palliative care, this has not been officially confirmed by the hospital.
