Winds swept through the Grand Duchy in the afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 100 km/h in exposed areas and hilltops.
Firefighters and emergency responders stayed busy this Monday, though no major incidents or injuries were reported. Saturated soil caused many trees to topple as their roots failed to hold firm.
Colonel Steve Mack from 112 told RTL that around 400 calls were received in just two hours. Sixty-five cases of uprooted trees were handled by Ponts-et-Chaussées, the National Roads Administration, who cleared the roads.
The CGDIS also dealt with 19 incidents where fallen trees had damaged rooftops.
With winds now easing, no further incidents are expected this evening. Authorities, however, remain on alert along the Moselle River due to high water levels.
