In a joint letter, the Association of Luxembourg Student Unions (ACEL) and the left-wing party Déi Lénk are requesting that years spent in student and vocational training be considered in pension reform discussions.

For the Association of Luxembourg Student Unions (ACEL) representatives, it is crucial that the years spent in student and vocational training are acknowledged in the context of pension reforms. This stance is supported by the left-wing party Déi Lénk.

The party argues that the existence of a €30 billion reserve undermines claims of an urgent need for reform. If a reform is indeed necessary, they believe it should focus on increasing the revenue of the first pension pillar.

Both ACEL and Déi Lénk also state that the government has failed to communicate this issue clearly and objectively.
