Police arrested two suspects on New Year's Eve following an attempted burglary in Belair, thanks to a timely tip-off from a local resident.
On Wednesday, police confirmed the arrest of two individuals caught attempting to burgle a house in the Belair neighbourhood of Luxembourg City.
The suspects were apprehended after a local resident alerted authorities. Responding promptly, officers detained the first individual at the scene and later discovered the second suspect hiding in nearby bushes. The latter had attempted to flee through a neighbouring garden before being intercepted.
Both suspects were taken into custody and later remanded to Uechterhaff prison on the orders of the public prosecutor's office.
Meanwhile, burglars also targeted homes in Cruchten, Holzem, and Contern on New Year's Eve. In each case, valuables were reported stolen. Forensic teams were deployed to secure evidence at the affected locations.
