The Grand Duchy's population keeps growing, and with that, its linguistic diversity. However, the Luxembourgish language is not at risk as it still holds its ranking at number one: Luxembourgish is by far the main primary language, Portuguese ranks in second place before French, followed by English and Italian, and lastly German. The national statistics portal STATEC has confirmed these figures only recently.

If you are a part of the four out of ten residents who do not speak the language, the end-of-year celebrations are a great opportunity to try sending out wishes in Luxembourgish. We even added a few extra phrases, to help you get through dinner seamlessly!
