According to L’essentiel, a young 16-year-old was severely injured by three dogs near the municipal park close to Glacis.

The incident occurred last Thursday in Luxembourg City at around 4pm. According to reports, the victim was walking from the ice rink at the Christmas market in the company of a friend when he was severely attacked by three dogs in the park near a 'suspicious-looking person.’

Emergency services confirmed that the young man had been taken into care early on Thursday evening after being bitten by an animal.

In conversation with a Luxembourgish news outlet, the victim's father explained that his son had been thrown to the ground and bitten several times on the leg. After an initial emergency intervention by CGDIS teams, the young victim had to be hospitalised for several hours and had to receive stitches an anti-rabies vaccine.

The young man's father emphasised that his son had managed to get rid of the dogs and scare them off before the person nearby also fled.

The victim's father confirms his son has been left traumatised from the incident, but managed to escape. The father wonders what would have happened if the dogs attacked a child or person unable to defend themselves.

By Friday, police have stated that they have opened an investigation to find the owner of the dog.
