The ALEBA trade union has released a list of demands in the context of the debate on pension reform in Luxembourg.
In a press release published on Thursday, the Luxembourg Association for all Employees with a Need for Assistance (ALEBA) called for an open debate on pensions, "based on medium-term forecasts and inclusive solutions for all schemes."
Against the backdrop of Luxembourg's pension debate, ALEBA listed a number of demands, such as the maintenance of the statutory retirement age of 65, a general reform of pensions that includes a harmonisation of all schemes, and measures to achieve gender equality and reduce the disparities between men and women in terms of pensions.
Representatives of the trade union will meet Minister of Social Security Martine Deprez on 19 November "to discuss [ALEBA's] integration into the reform process" and to present the union's proposals.
