Luxembourg police have reported multiple burglaries in Contern and Ernster, as well as incidents of car break-ins in the City and in Bettembourg.
On Sunday morning, a home on Op der Haangels in Contern was broken into, where a bedroom was searched. The police bulletin does not specify if any items were stolen. However, valuables were taken in Ernster after a break-in on Rue Principale. Police investigations were in place at both locations.
In another incident on Sunday morning, a person attempted to break into several cars in Limpertsberg, damaging the vehicles in the process. The suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated and behaved aggressively, was arrested.
Later that evening, a car parked on Rue de la Scierie in Bettembourg was broken into, with some coins and cigarettes reported stolen.
Police are advising the public to avoid leaving valuables in vehicles and to ensure cars are securely locked, even if only left unattended for a short time.
