Thursday night was a tumultuous one: the police had their work cut out for them, including drugs, drink drivers and noise complaints.

On Thursday afternoon, the police’s attention was drawn to two people in Park Gerlache in Differdange, consuming drugs. They were then examined by officials, who found a bag of hashish as well as a kitchen knife.

Later that day at 8:30 pm, police officers noticed a car in bad condition on Rue Alexis Heck in Diekirch. The officers stopped the car for security reasons. As it turns out, the car’s papers were not in order, and the driver was banned from driving. The latter also admitted having consumed a joint, and that he still had four grams of cannabis on him. The drugs were seized.

Then, at 1am on Friday, officials were alerted of a drunk woman who was behaving inappropriately in a café in Vianden. Since she was a danger to herself and to others, she was admitted to the hospital for a medical check-up.

Finally, the police received 30 calls on Halloween night regarding disturbances that interrupted people's sleep. In most instances, the problems were addressed immediately, or calm was restored as soon as the officers arrived.
