Employers and trade unions in Luxembourg's care and social sector have reached a new collective agreement that promises increased compensation for employees.

COPAS, the umbrella organisation for care providers, and the Federation of Actors in the Social Sector in Luxembourg (FEDAS), along with the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), have reached a consensus on a new collective agreement.

According to the newspaper Luxemburger Wort, the new agreement features increased compensation for employees, including a one-time bonus of €3,670 (based on work hours) and holiday pay amounting to 42 index points.

The agreement, which is set to cover the next three years until 2027, still requires government approval due to the impact on the state budget. Approximately 10,000 individuals are employed in Luxembourg's care and social sector.
