Police released a statement on Monday evening confirming they were currently on the hunt for a suspect on the run in the Bettange-sur Mess / Schouweiler areas.

The suspect is said to have a dark skin tone and short dark hair, and was last seen wearing a white top with a black stripe on one side, with light-wash jeans and white running shoes.

Anyone with information on the suspect should contact 113.

Motorists travelling in the area should not pick up any hitchhikers or stop for any individuals, police added.
