Luxembourg City is gearing up for a community-driven urban planning event, the Ideation Lab, which will engage residents, entrepreneurs, and associations in shaping the future of the capital’s 24 districts through collaborative brainstorming and local initiatives.

Luxembourg City is set to host a brainstorming session on urban planning, called Ideation Lab, which aims to foster community spirit and enhance the quality of life across the capital's 24 districts by actively involving residents in its 'Quartierspläng' scheme. The initiative promises a dynamic forum for residents, entrepreneurs, and association representatives to collaborate and propose innovative solutions tailored to their district's specific needs.

Over the span of two days, participants will thus work in groups on one of the ideas selected from those proposed by team members. The sessions will be guided by "experienced mentors and experts" from various municipal departments, who will offer valuable insights and support throughout the process.

At the conclusion of the lab, the teams will present their ideas and outcomes to a panel of judges. This presentation will serve as a catalyst for future development within Luxembourg City districts, helping to lay a foundation for sustainable and community-oriented growth.

The session will take place at the Cessange cultural centre from Friday, 18 October to Sunday, 20 October 2024.

Apéri’tours to resume alongside online survey

Following a summer break, the Apéri’tours initiative – another essential element of the Quartierspläng scheme – will recommence on the last Sunday in September. These tours offer an opportunity for residents to explore different city districts and engage in discussions with politicians and policymakers, with a final event in Kirchberg scheduled for Tuesday, 22 October.

Until then, an online survey remains open, allowing residents to express their opinions on various issues, such as public meeting spaces, social cohesion, and the availability of sports, cultural, and social facilities.
