Over the weekend, Luxembourg police stopped several drivers for drink-driving.

One incident occurred on the morning of 25 August, when a patrol discovered a vehicle overturned in a ditch on the road from Echternach to Waldhof. The driver was found nearby, outside the vehicle, and tested positive for alcohol. As a result, the police confiscated their driving licence.

Later on Sunday night, police responded to a report of a "visibly drunk" individual in a car park on Rue Notre-Dame in Luxembourg City. Officers found the person staggering between the ticket machine and their vehicle. A check revealed that the individual's driving licence had expired. When they refused to take an alcohol test, the police issued a temporary driving ban.

On the same evening, another police patrol encountered a motorist driving "erratically" between the A4 and A13 lanes, heading towards Kayl. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, confirmed by a test, and was also issued a temporary driving ban.
