In a traffic accident on the motorway towards Arlon on Saturday evening three people were injured, the emergency services reported on Sunday.

At around 9pm near Capellen a car ran into the guard rail. Ambulances from Mamer and Luxembourg City were called to the scene.

The police also witnessed a car zigzagging across the road on Sunday morning around 5.30 pm on the A3. The vehicle left the highway at the Dudelange exit. A police patrol was able to find the car in an area close to the French border - it was parked in the middle of the opposite lane and the motor was still running. The driver was fast asleep in the car. When the police officers woke him up, the driver seemed confused and had difficulties talking, as was written in the police report.

The driver had difficulties climbing out of the car on his own, so that the officers needed to help him keep his balance. An alcohol test came back positive and the driver had to give up his license.
