Overnight on Saturday, Luxembourg police responded to multiple incidents including a theft in the city, break-ins in Derenbach and Capellen, and an incident in Belair where a man was apprehended for tampering with parked cars.
Overnight on Saturday, the police reported a theft on Place de Paris in the city, where two perpetrators distracted a victim while one stole the victim's wallet from behind. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, prompting an ongoing investigation.
In addition, there were reports of break-ins or attempted break-ins in several locations. In Derenbach around 7:30pm, a break-in occurred where a window was smashed and the house ransacked. Shortly after, in Capellen on Garer Strooss, intruders attempted to break into a building through a window but fled when noticed by a resident. In response to both incidents, the forensic unit of the police was summoned.
In Belair, another incident involved a man tampering with parked cars, one of which was left unlocked. The individual was apprehended after a brief search and taken to the police station for further processing, with investigations ongoing.
