Luxembourg City officials on Thursday unveiled a spacious new playground in Belair, featuring an array of equipment designed to cater to children of all ages, enhancing the district's recreational offerings.

On Thursday, Luxembourg City officials proudly inaugurated the new playground near Rue Lou Koster in the capital's Belair district. Covering an area of approximately 1,645sq m, the new site provides quality recreational spaces for the district's youngest residents.

The playground features a climbing frame, a small hut, a baby slide, and swings specifically designed for children up until the age of three. Older children can enjoy several bigger swings, another climbing frame with suspension bridges, and two slides. Additionally, the playground boasts a bird's nest swing, a carousel, and a slackline, offering diverse activities to engage children's physical and creative skills.

The entire playground is covered in sand, providing a soft, shock-absorbent surface that enhances safety during play. In a statement, the municipality of Luxembourg City assures that the playground complies with safety standards as LuxControl SA awarded it the 'Safe Playground' label and will regularly check all installations.

Visitors can also take advantage of the numerous benches and picnic tables strategically placed within the playground, offering a relaxing spot for parents and caregivers amid lush greenery.

With 212 recreational spaces, including public playgrounds, multi-use sports fields, facilities for ball games, pétanque courts, and skate parks, Luxembourg City officials seek to ensure that there are ample spaces for children and adolescents to engage in outdoor activities across the capital.
