This year's agricultural fair focussed on regional products and their marketing, with the hope of increasing their appeal to consumers.
The agricultural fair also offers activities for children, horse shows, stables with breeding cattle, a cookery course and brochures with meat recipes.
The fair is hoping to highlight the ties between agriculture and society to increase the population's interest in the sector. For this, the farmer needs to bring his knowledge closer to the people.
Politicians were also represented on Friday to be able to better address the sector and its weaknesses. Politicians have a clear role to play, says Jeff Boonen, farmer and MP.
For the marketing of our local produce to really work, entire branches need to be set up and people need to learn that regional products are also quality products, explains Minister Martine Hansen.
The agricultural fair is open until Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm.
