Six chefs with seven Michelin stars between them are set to hold a fundraising dinner in Mondorf-les-Bains on Wednesday in aid of the Luxembourg Cancer Foundation.
The 'Nuit Blanche' gastronomic experience is a charity dinner to raise funds for cancer research in the Grand Duchy. The event quickly sold out, with 208 guests participating in the six-course dinner. The per-person price is €265, which includes wine pairings.
Organisers Premium Magazine and Quallista say the event is part of two initiatives to raise as much money as possible for Luxembourg's cancer foundation. There will also be "an auction dedicated to the art of living, highlighting national and international artists", according to officials.
€13,000 raised at previous edition
The second edition of the Nuit Blanche dinner was meant to be held on the rooftop of the SixSeven restaurant on the top floor of the Royal Hamilius complex. However, weather conditions meant organisers had to scramble to find a replacement venue at the last minute. Now, the event will take place at the Thermes in Mondorf.
Among the renowned chefs are Cyril Molard of Ma Langue Sourit in Moutfort – Luxembourg's only restaurant with two Michelin stars – and Charles Coulombeau of La Maison in Nancy, which recently opened two new premises in the Centre Pompidou-Metz.
Coulombeau will be returning to Luxembourg on 11 August to cook with Ryôdô Kajiwara from the Japanese restaurant Ryôdô in the Grand Duchy, which also holds a Michelin star. The four other chefs taking charge at Wednesday's fundraiser are Frédéric Simonin, former chef at La Table de Joël Robuchon, who has one Michelin star in Paris; award-winning pâtissière Aurélie Collomb-Clerc, who worked at the three-star Flocons de Sel in Megève; Maxime Collard of the two-star restaurant La Table de Maxime in Paliseul, Belgium; and Benjamin Patissier, chef at La Chabotterie, in Montréverd, with one star.
The first Nuit Blanche event, held on 29 November 2023 at the Sofitel Europe in Kirchberg, was attended by nearly 170 guests, raising €13,000 for the cancer foundation through the raffle and art auction.
The event is named for the chef's whites worn by the award-winning chefs involved.
