The Luxembourg Ministry of Education confirmed on Tuesday that 2,788 students successfully passed their exams, paving the way towards their higher education opportunities. The deferral rate remained unchanged at 15%, with 575 students scheduled to retake exams in September. Notably, the fail rate decreased slightly from 11% to 10% since 2023, affecting around 370 students who need to retake all exams and, in most cases, repeat the school year.
Classical secondary education reported the highest pass rate at 85%, surpassing the overall success rate of 66% for secondary education in Luxembourg.
The Ministry also highlighted a slight performance difference between young women and young men in classical secondary education, with women achieving an 86% pass rate compared to men’s 84%. However, when considering the overall averages, both genders achieved an equal 66% success rate.
