The ADR has voiced significant concerns regarding proposals from Déi Lénk (The Left) on abortion rights.

Déi Lénk submitted a proposal to the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday covering the topic of abortion as a constitutional right.

The ADR worries that these proposals could lead to the removal of every protective measure designed to preserve the life of the child.

However, the party’s statement does not clarify whether it also criticises the current law on abortion.

Additionally, the ADR sees a potential "danger to the freedom of conscience of doctors and medical staff" if the right to abortion is enshrined in the constitution. They question whether such a fundamental right can be denied on personal grounds.

Should the proposal to constitutionally protect the right to an abortion move forward, the ADR calls for a referendum to decide the matter.
