On Wednesday, the government council approved legislation in a number of different areas. Luxembourg's police helicopter will thus participate in operations organised by the European border agency Frontex from next year onward.
Political leave for public officials, including mayors, aldermen, and municipal councillors who are self-employed or unemployed, will be adjusted. The government council further approved a bill that seeks to reform and more fairly distribute municipal contributions to the employment fund.
Finally, the council also adopted the necessary laws and regulations to implement Prime Minister Luc Frieden's announcements regarding climate subsidies made in his State of the Nation address in early June.
