A man in Petange was shot in the foot and attacked in the head with a knife in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police report that the attacker fled towards France by car after the assault. The man, who did not suffer life-threatening injuries, was hospitalised.

Police continue looking for the attacker and have launched investigations.

It is unclear what led to the attack, or whether the two knew each other.
