Under Article 107 of the Luxembourg Highway Code, parking spaces designated and marked for electric cars are specifically reserved for electric and hybrid vehicles. However, these vehicles must adhere to certain regulations.
For instance, if these parking spaces are specially marked by corresponding signage, they may only be used by cars connected to the charging point. Hence, leaving an electric or hybrid vehicle parked in that space without actively charging it would be deemed 'improper parking'
Upon further enquiry, the police emphasised that any vehicle occupying a space designated for electric cars without meeting all the criteria will be subject to a €49 fine for violating parking regulations.
