Two incidents of theft were reported to police on Friday evening in the capital.

Shortly after 10pm on Friday, a pedestrian on Rue Nicolas Van Werweke, Hollerich, was approached by a group of four strangers. The individuals proceeded to threaten their victim with a knife and forced them to hand over their wallet, then all four ran away.

The victim, who escaped the encounter without injury, described one of the attackers as short, aged 25-30, wearing a cap with a denim jacket and a bum bag/ fanny pack.

An hour later, a woman was mugged on the crossroads near Rue Adolphe Fischer after a man walked into her, then ran off quickly when she asked if he was alright. Shortly afterwards, the woman realised he had stolen her mobile phone during the brief altercation.

The suspect was described as short and slim, aged around 30, with a tanned complexion. He was wearing a black jacket and dark blue jogging bottoms. The victim said she was left with the impression that he had been under the influence of alcohol.
