The ADR and the Pirate Party submitted parliamentary questions to the health minister after reports emerged on Wednesday that a private radiology centre had been forced to suspend CT scans and mammography appointments, redirecting their patients to the main hospitals as a result.
Deprez explained that the ministry had been in contact with the “Hygie Imagerie” radiology centre in Esch-sur-Alzette to discuss their non-compliance with the law, which meant the centre was unable to use their scanning devices at present. However, the minister added that discussions were underway regarding a potential collaboration between the centre and the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch in Esch.
As for the private patients awaiting appointments, Deprez said the ministry would take care of arranging their care with the main hospital centres in Luxembourg.
