The Grand Ducal police observed three instances of cars zigzagging across roads overnight from Thursday to Friday, with another vehicle flipped on its roof.

At around 2pm on Thursday, a police patrol pulled over a motorist on the A4 near Pontpierre for their suspicious driving style. The driver was weaving across the road, accelerating and braking abruptly, causing police to carry out a breathalyser test. The individual was found to be intoxicated and consequently had their licence taken away.

Several hours later, police pulled over a heavily damaged vehicle in Windhof after noticing it zigzagging across the road. It transpired the motorist had driven through a flowerbed and crashed into a sign and the pavement in the process, but had carried on driving without attending to the vehicle. A provisional driving ban was issued to the driver, who was visibly drunk.

Two people were injured in a crash on the A6 overnight, after the driver crashed into a parked truck belonging to the Roads and Bridges Authority which was meant to alert motorists to a lane closure. As the car hit the truck at high speed, it collided with the median barrier and overturned, landing on its roof. The driver of the car received treatment at the scene of the crash, but had their licence confiscated due to a positive breathalyser test. The truck driver was also taken to hospital for a check-up.

In Mertert, another drunk driver was pulled over at around 3.40am on Friday. A breathalyser test was carried out, with officers ultimately confiscating the driver's licence.
