The Luxembourg prosecutor's office has officially closed the case against DP Minister Claude Meisch, accused of a violent incident at a local restaurant, citing lack of evidence of any criminal offense.

After Claude Meisch, the Democratic Party (DP) Minister of Education and Minister of Housing, was recently accused of a violent incident at a Luxembourg City restaurant, the prosecutor's office announced on Monday that the case against the politician was officially closed.

A witness had alleged that Meisch behaved violently towards a female colleague from the Education Ministry during a visit to the restaurant. The witness later posted a video to social media in which she outlined what had happened in her estimation.

Both Meisch and the colleague in question subsequently denied all the allegations.

A press release from the prosecutor's office accordingly states: "As part of the investigation ordered by the Luxembourg public prosecutor's office, the person who had been with the minister was interviewed. In the light of this person's statements, the public prosecutor's office closed the case without further action as there was no evidence to suggest that a criminal offence had been committed."
