The Green Party MP is expected to join lead candidate Tilly Metz in the June elections. Metz is currently the Greens’ sole MEP.

While Metz has already been confirmed as a lead candidate, Bausch is now set to support her bid with his ministerial experience.

However, the Greens still have to confirm their six candidates at a party congress scheduled for 16 March.

Should Bausch be elected to the European Parliament, co-party president Djuna Bernard will enter the Chamber of Deputies in his stead.
