After Wednesday's icy conditions, Luxembourg woke up to snow on Thursday morning - impacting commutes and school runs as schools reopened.

Despite travel chaos affecting the country's roads and public transport, pupils across Luxembourg had to return to class on Thursday. Although journeys were heavily impacted by the weather conditions, a large number of secondary students managed to get to school in Limpertsberg.

Snow in the Grand Duchy is still a novelty for many of today's pupils, but many of them said they would prefer to have snow when they don't need to travel into school. Although schools were taking delayed journeys into account on Thursday, students told RTL they found it uncomfortable spending such a long time on a bus or coach stuck in traffic, while many said they had to wait outside in the cold at bus stops due to the extensive delays.
