Tuesday proved to be a busy day for the Luxembourg police force as they apprehended several suspects involved in diverse criminal activities, spanning drink driving, burglary, and drug possession.
The first arrest occurred near the central railway station in Luxembourg City, where a speeding driver drew the attention of patrolling officers. Upon inspection, it quickly became evident that the driver had exceeded the legal alcohol limit and was also under the influence of drugs.
To make matters worse, the individual lacked proper vehicle documentation, operated the vehicle despite a driving ban, and was found in possession of a tear-gas canister and a quantity of drugs. The cumulative evidence justified the immediate arrest of the offender.
Later that evening, again near the central railway station in Luxembourg City, another suspect behaving suspiciously drew the attention of law enforcement. Attempting to evade capture, the individual swiftly changed direction while crossing tram tracks. Subsequent inspection led to the discovery of approximately thirty bags of drugs. The suspect faced charges and appeared before an examining magistrate the following day.
In Wasserbillig, a police patrol intervened in response to an attempted burglary. The culprit, caught in the act of forcing open a door, was swiftly located and detained. A search uncovered a small quantity of marijuana, leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. The individual appeared before an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning.
