After heavy rain and flooding this week, temperatures are set to drop from Friday following a change in wind circulation. Continental winds will bring cold and dry air to the region, resulting in the potential return of the sun to accompany the start of the new term next week.
Luxembourg’s weather service Meteolux says it could even snow on Sunday, with temperatures forecast to sit just above zero degrees Celsius during the daytime. Overnight, conditions will become even colder, remaining below freezing until Tuesday at the earliest.
Temperatures will sit below the seasonal average, while the wind chill factor means conditions will feel even icier than expected.
According to the Météo-France forecast, the cold snap is expected to last until the end of next week, before returning to the seasonal average next weekend.
