Transfer of activitiesJob safety for all 1,200 staff at Luxair Cargo

1,200 employees at the CargoCenter can count on their job safety, trade unions OGBL, LCGB and NGL-Snep confirmed on Thursday.

An accord was signed by Luxair along with new operator Luxcargo Handling.

Following Luxair Cargo’s decision to step out of cargo handling at Findel, new provider Luxcargo, the sister company of Cargolux, will take over the approximately 1,200 employees.

Last week the CEO of Cargolux, Richard Forson, reassured workers on their employment contracts: “No one is losing their job.”

However, not all staff benefits are included in the collective agreement. The CEO of Cargolux mentions the right to plane tickets for staff for example. Given that Luxcargo is not an airline, Richard Forson explains: “We will have to look at what solution we can find. There may not be a perfect solution, but there will be one. But if I’m honest, I don’t know if they will get the same benefits as before.”

Protests around this decision were held in September.

One other license also went to the Greek cargo handling actor Goldair Handling S.A.
