Over the course of Friday night into Saturday, the police encountered a series of incidents involving drink-driving.

In Altwies, at around 6.30pm on Friday evening, a driver collided with a lamp post at a zebra crossing, rendering the vehicle immobile. Following a breathalyser test, the driver's licence was confiscated.

Around midnight, in Esch-sur-Alzette, police observed a driver who blatantly disregarded a red traffic light. Upon stopping the vehicle, a subsequent check revealed the driver had exceeded permissible alcohol limits, resulting in the surrender of their driving licence.

Shortly thereafter, in Diekirch, law enforcement encountered a driver navigating a roundabout in the wrong direction. Suspecting alcohol influence, officers attempted an alcohol test, which the driver refused. Consequently, a provisional driving ban was imposed.

On the same night, a report reached the police emergency line 113 regarding a vehicle with damaged tires obstructing Rue Goethe in Luxembourg City. Signs suggested the driver had collided with the pavement, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The subsequent alcohol test yielded positive results, leading to the seizure of the driver's licence. However, the individual vehemently objected, escalating into aggressive behaviour and insults directed at the police officers. Due to his condition, a medical examination was conducted before the man spent the night in police custody.
