The Wine Institute is tasked with carrying out applied research and practice-related testing on all things related to Luxembourg's domestic viticulture.

Serge Fischer, who started working for Luxembourg's Remich-based Wine Institute (Institut Viti-Vinicole) 23 years ago, will succeed Roby Ley as director. Fischer holds a master's degree in oenology from the University of Reims.
