Another two municipalities in Luxembourg are set to get a new mayor as their former town heads have been appointed to positions in the new Frieden administration.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, Christian Weis is poised to take over the office formerly held by Georges Mischo, who is now the Minister of Labour and Minister of Sport. Weis is scheduled to be officially sworn in next week if confirmed by the local council. The vacant alderman post in the municipality will be taken over by Bruno Cavaleiro, who in return will be replaced by Dejvid Ramdedovic on the council.
In Schieren, former Mayor Eric Thill has to be replaced as he also took on a position in the Frieden administration. Jean-Paul Zeimes, first alderman of the town, is expected to be named mayor by the local council.
