The famous gastronomic guide crowned the most talented chefs of Luxembourg, this Monday, at the Parc Hotel Alvisse. Louis Linster, elected young chef of the year three years ago, secured the winning title this year.

Luxembourgish chef Louis Linster was crowned 'Chef of the Year' by the prestigious gastronomic guide Gault&Millau, only three years after becoming 'Young Chef of the Year' in 2021. Meanwhile, his partner Njomza inherited the hostess prize of the year 2022. The couple took home three awards in the space of three years, making the restaurant Léa Linster in Frisange one of the best eateries in the country.

For Gault&Millau, which has published a 100% Luxembourgish guide for the last 5 years, Louis Linster "has solved the difficult challenge of creating a name." The chef of a restaurant that still bears the name of his mother "has demonstrated his potential from the beginning when relaunching the establishment by creating a cuisine that is well-engraved in the air of the times," says the guide. "His evolution and his consistency, as well as the fairness and freshness of his cuisine, convinced us that it was time to name him "Chef of the Year".

As a result, restaurant Léa Linster achieved a score of 17/20, which places it in close proximity to the four top restaurants in the country: Ma Langue Sourit, La Distillerie, Fani and Mosconi.

The prize for young chef of the year was awarded to Clovis Degrave. The 33-year-old chef was inspired by Chef's Table, popularised in particular by the American Netflix series, and created his own just in front of the Hostellerie Du Grünewald, where he has been working for several years.

In place of the old neighborhood café is now a large counter capable of accommodating 18 customers, served at the same time by the chef and his team from the central kitchen - a spectacular experience. Our colleague from RTL Infos had the pleasure of tasting the menu, and he's convinced Degrave will be attracting more gastronomic guides very fast.

In addition to the 10 prizes awarded this Monday, 24 new addresses in Luxembourg have entered the Gault&Millau guide.

Each year, this bilingual French-English guide selects the best chefs, restaurants, brasseries, bars and chocolatiers of the country, as well as a selection of the top of the Luxembourg wineries.
