On Sunday, the Grand Ducal police conducted alcohol checks on a vast number of motorists in northern Luxembourg.
The operation was launched by order of the Prosecutor General and took place on the RN17 in Tandel.
205 motorists were asked to undergo routine breathalyser testing as part of the checks, even those who had not displayed any suspicious activity. Just one driver delivered a positive result, receiving a fine for driving whilst intoxicated.
No driving licences were confiscated during the operation; however, police did issue three fines for traffic violations, according to the report.
