The draft law on tax fraud, which seeks to implement an EU directive on a national level, was approved with 60 votes in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday morning.

MPs in the Chamber agreed that "honest" people and businesses should be protected by the new law on payment service providers.

A new European data bank will thus be created to collect information on cross-border payments, a process that is hoped to help monitor instances of fraud. This directive can be applied if 25 cross-border payments are made to the same beneficiary in the span of one quarter.
