Without their knowledge, the coach filmed the girls in the shower for five years. He also managed to steal private photos from one of the girls’ homes. On Thursday, he was sentenced to five years in prison, three of which are conditionally suspended.
The other man was condemned to a conditional prison sentence of two years and a fine of €2,000.
Both men will have to undergo psychiatric treatment for their paedophilia. The volleyball coach will also have to pay damages to his victims.
22 girls brought a civil action in this case, and the court awarded them damages of €3,000 and €8,000 in one specific case. Furthermore, the coach will have to pay a symbolic euro to his former club.
