The Grand Ducal Police have issued a witness appeal after a cashpoint in the German town of Bollendorf, just across the Sûre river, was blown up at around 3.15am on Wednesday morning.

The building that held the cashpoint was significantly damaged in the explosion.
According to reports, the car used in the robbery had Luxembourgish license plates (XJ 9692) and is believed to be a black Audi. Three men were said to be in the car, according to a witness.
Witnesses who spotted the car should contact the authorities on 113.
Only one month ago a similar explosion occurred at a Sparkasse in Echternachbrück, only seven kilometres away.
