
The incident took place at around 10.45am on Tuesday along Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Esch-sur-Alzette.
Shortly afterwards, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reported that emergency responders, including the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) and local rescue centre personnel, successfully rescued the two injured individuals.
The police have confirmed to RTL that one of the two men involved in the accident was fatally injured. The man was reportedly hit by an excavator that had overturned on the construction site.
The precise circumstances surrounding this incident will be determined by the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM), whose team has visited the site for further investigation.
