At present, just one unit is currently active at the nuclear power plant in Cattenom, according to a statement by the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps.

Initial investigations suggest there is an issue with a main transformer in the Unit 4 reactor. However, the CGDIS confirmed it was not part of the nuclear unit area.
This would indicate that the shutdown will have no impact on the nuclear power plant's safety, nor that of staff or the environment.

Currently, the only reactor still running is Unit 3. The reactors for Units 1 and 2 are currently off the network due to maintenance work.
