The lead candidates of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) in Luxembourg City presented their election programme on Friday morning.
Gabriel Boisante and Maxime Miltgen think that "things must finally change" in Luxembourg City and declared that they want "a better capital." The LSAP's programme for Luxembourg City is divided into nine main chapters.
One of the cornerstones of their programme concerns housing, with a €100 million annual budget to support affordable housing by expanding existing availability from 620 to 2,000 units by 2030.
The LSAP also advocates for 30 km/h zones in the capital, as well as safe bicycle paths to better connect neighbourhoods through soft mobility.
In the area of citizens' participation, the LSAP proposes the establishment of a Citizens Council. This council would be given a €5 million budget each year to work on projects "that would benefit all citizens."
Finally, the capital's socialists have set themselves the ambitious goal of reaching 50% participation among foreign residents in the next municipal elections.
