Dr Benoît Ochs could return to work after his professional ban runs out on Sunday, as another trial has been postponed following allegations of bias against the judge.

Dr Ochs, who was banned from practising for a year after being accused of 13 violations of the code of ethics, was set to attend a further disciplinary procedure on Wednesday. However, daily newspaper the Luxemburger Wort reports that the verdict has been suspended following an accusation of bias made against Pierre Calmes, chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and President of the District Court of Luxembourg.

The defence argues that Ochs is entitled to an impartial hearing. If the request against Calmes is granted, the hearing will be repeated before a new assembly of the committee, but all parties would have the option to appeal the decision once more. It is likely, therefore, that it will be some time before the disciplinary proceedings receive an actual judgement and legally binding decision.
