Two classes of ten and eleven-year-olds from Wiltz conducted interviews and printed posters in order to promote the registration of non-Luxembourgish voters for the upcoming elections.

Non-Luxembourgers have until 17 April to register to vote in June’s municipal elections. But, as of the end of March, just 16% of foreigners had registered.

In order to promote awareness and spread the word to non-Luxembourgish citizens, two classes from Cycle 4.1 at the “Reenert” primary school in Wiltz launched a campaign.

The children prepared a 30-minute radio interview with three experts on the topic, as well as creating a number of posters with QR codes encouraging citizens to register to vote. Around 5,000 posters in 12 different languages were hung around Wiltz and other localities in the north, while staff, pupils and parents alike posed for the images.

The posters and interviews can be found online.
