The Intercommunal Syndicate for IT Management (SIGI) committee met on Tuesday to review the findings of three audits, which included an examination of financial management and personnel management in relation to allegations of harassment.
SIGI's mission is to develop software solutions to enable municipalities in Luxembourg handle their tasks more efficiently.
Inconsistencies in SIGI's budget and accounts
In July 2022, the Ministry of Home Affairs informed the competent bodies of the Syndicate about irregularities in the latest budget and accounts.
Minister for Home Affairs Taina Bofferding issued a public statement in response to press reports about mismanagement at SIGI. Similar stories had circulated for years and also prompted reactions from the General Federation of Municipal Workers (FGFC) and the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL).
SIGI manages the IT network of almost all municipalities in Luxembourg.
