On Saturday, members of the Democratic Party (DP) held their congress for this year's municipal elections and presented both slogan and vision for their campaign.

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel shared his vision for the super election year 2023. He explained that once again being designated as DP lead candidate would make him proud, but also noted that he is not so power-hungry as to do whatever it takes to get the nomination.

The politician further clarified that he does not support a revision of the inheritance tax, nor a reduction of working hours.

DP party president, Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, and Minister for Tourism Lex Delles praised the party's policies of recent years. He noted that the administration managed to strike a balance between individual rights and public health, as well as between support for businesses and healthy public finances.

Minister Delles further discussed ways of freeing up financial means to continue investing in the creation of housing projects.

Another proposal made at the DP congress was that people should no longer have to pre-finance photovoltaic installations, but that subsidies should already be deducted from bills.

'No bei dir', which means 'Close to you', will be the DP's slogan for the municipal election campaign, which they say will focus on improving everyday life in Luxembourg's towns.
